What is Ventolin (Albuterol) Used For?
Ventolin HFA (albuterol sulfate) is a short-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (SABA) indicated for:
- Relief of acute bronchospasm in asthma (adults and children ≥4 years)
- Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm (EIB)
- Relief of bronchospasm in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
It is the most prescribed rescue inhaler worldwide and is included on the WHO List of Essential Medicines.
